In his inaugural address, the Commandant of NNS QUORRA, Commodore Benjamin Onalo, expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of Naval personnel, which remains a major reason for the push to accredit NNS QUORRA to commence the STCW training.

"The certificates you will earn at the end of this course are globally recognized and will open new professional opportunities for you in the maritime sector."

The STCW training represents a significant milestone for NNS QUORRA as it expands its training capabilities to meet international maritime standards. The certification will enable Nigerian Navy personnel and other maritime professionals to acquire globally recognized qualifications without needing to travel abroad for such training.

About STCW

The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) sets qualification standards for masters, officers and watch personnel on seagoing merchant ships and large yachts. STCW was adopted in 1978 by conference at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in London, and entered into force in 1984.
