The school was established in 1989 at NNS AKASO in Port Harcourt and was later relocated to NNS QUORRA Lagos in 1995. The Physical Training Course was designed to train qualified personnel of physical training and sports department. The Course is to prepare them to organize and administer sports and physical activities in the NN towards ensuring operational effectiveness and efficiency. It will also expose the students to understand what physical education/training is all about, basic coaching skills and games.

Courses

The PT School offers courses for ratings.

Physical Training 2 Qualifying

(PT2 Q)

The PT2 “Q” Course, for suitably qualified ratings who have completed their Third Rate and Basic Naval Training. The course is to train and prepare Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) of Able Seaman and Seaman through physical activities and sports.

Physical Training 3 "Qualifying"

(PT3 Q)

The PT3 “Q” Course is for suitably qualified ratings that have completed their Basic Naval Training, and is to train and prepare Physical Training Instructors (PTIs) of Ordinary Seaman Rates to carry out the responsibilities of keeping NN personnel physically fit through physical activities and sports.
